Re: The liar speaks...
From my understanding, so long as the outside of the stadium looks close enough to the iconic Olympics image, that's probably all the government care about.

After all, most of the country is unlikely to ever set foot in it, and those who do can be brushed aside with consummate aplomb should they say anything.

We may end up with "a stadium within a stadium". Personally I think that would be just another Coe appeasement fudge.

It needs to be declared unsafe/unfit for purpose ASAP and have an independent engineers report recommending it's total replacement.

That's probably about the only factor that would attract a buyer at the moment.

What we need is a damn good flooding of the Lea Valley to sweep away most of the arena's foundations. Where can I buy some feathers, a tomahawk and a totem pole?

........and it was Sullivan & Co who were happy to boast about how great the stadium was going to be.
Maybe one day when the LS is improved you will see how a rectangle can fit into a circle properly with a bit of creative engineering or even a partial rebuild.

Are you for real.

Gold and Sullivan spend Big money on players do me a favour.

Whenever they have spent big they have just sold bigger and always the player bought is never as much as the player sold.

Take a look at the players bought vs players sold over the last two seasons it's a disgrace, especially as they were peddeling next level bollocks.

They have a serial history of not investing in playing squads which has continued here.

Dreadful owners that just cannot be defended.

Re: The liar speaks...
.....but we bid for Dendonker Jaan so he must have the right player, same with Carvalho. How many windows have drifted by without actually signing player Inthis position that we have crying out for for over a year at least?

Norf, not sure where to begin with your little tirade.
Been going since early 70s which was 20 years before the Prem existed.
Not sure I've been "scweaming" about signings either, well no more than most who only want us to sign decent younger / promising players permanently.
Sullivan didn't mention the move only being worth an extra 10m PA beforehand, only afterwards when it became apparent he had no intention of even trying to move the team up the table and turn us into a bigger force.

I met a few others yesterday from other sites and groups who didn't seem to have s very high opinion of WHO due to the petty insults and bickering they had experienced in here. Not hard to see their point us it?

Are you calling me a "Premiership fan' then Norf?

You are the ultimate premiership fan....!!!

You’ve scweemed and scweemed for the last 6 months about us signing players that you’ve never even seen play and have no idea if their any good....I’d say that’s exactly what the premiership generation are all about.

If you ever thought you’d be near a football pitch in a completely round stadium your even more stupid than I give you credit for

Many on here said that the clubs make their money from TV not gates especially when you want to promote “affordable football” Sullivan himself said we make 10million a year more than we did at UP which put into perspective doesn’t even pay Carroll and Hernandez wages who realistically now when everybody is fit probably neither would start

I would only expect a child or a moron think moving there would take us to the “next level”

Maybe we don't rate Dendonker enough to pay 20m?

People focus too much on price tags. A lot of transfers of 20m+ aren't working out for the club's. Bony has done nothing for Swansea, Slimani has now gone out on loan. Most of Everton's big signings have flopped too. There are loads of examples including our own in Ayew not working out.

Just spending big isn't the answer, getting the right players in is what we need to focus on.

>>> Sullivan and Gold will only ever spend the bare minimun on players their track record proves that.

The evidence is actually the exact opposite - they have a track record of spending big money on players that do not deliver value for money. Critics love to focus on their cheap failures, but the club doesn't live or die by cheap gambles, but the significant mistakes. Calleri or Nordtveit are irrelevant, whereas the failures of Ayew, Valencia, Carroll etc cast a huge shadow over what the club has been able to achieve.

Re: The liar speaks...
Moyes must still have contacts there and will be still held in high regard.

The Porto chairman denied he'd ever had an offer from West Ham, remember? Then we saw that email which appeared to be written by a 10 year old and sent to WC agent. It was also loaded with unrealistic add ons.

Thing is a club now in our position and after the promises made should be able to pay more than 20m plus add ons for a player. Lesser clubs can afford that and have paid more.
We only bid 14m for Dendonker as well, on the last day of the window.

"Telling that we ended up going to Moyes old club to make our only permanent signing."

No it isn't. Both the owners and Chairman have changed since Moyes left them, so I'm not sure what you think the 'telling' connection is?

As for Carvalho, we couldn't afford 40m euros, we had 25m and that's what we were meant to have offered.

We don't find players that we can't afford; we are just being over ambitious.

In the same way as offering 4.4 million upfront for a player valued at 20 million is over ambitious.

Scout within your bugdet , open to what is deemed a reasonable budget I suppose.

Sullivan and Gold will only ever spend the bare minimun on players their track record proves that.

Fuck knows what the transfer surplus must be over the last couple of seasons there has been a lot more out's than in's .

Sullivans interview bordered on the pathetic.

Him and Gold are too old and out of touch to be at the helm of a premier league club.

The pair of greedy old cunts should do the right thing and stand aside and look for new owners who can fulfill the massive potential here.

Re: The liar speaks...
As we've all commented already.
Players in positions we're desperate to fill like Carvalho & Dendonker have been identified but weren't serious about trying to sign them. We left it too late and offered too little. Both could have been signed within our budget but all we've done is unsettle the players and pissed their clubs off giving us a bad rep which will now make it even harder to get deals done.
Telling that we ended up going to Moyes old club to make our only permanent signing.

Re: The liar speaks...
It's the lies and excuses about investing in the team properly which anger me the most.

First and foremost I want to see a squad actually equipped to give every game a go, whatever stadium we're playing in. Therefore when the board PROMISE we'll start assembling a very good squad to consistently be in the top half of the table, but end up completely reneging on that and not giving the manager a squad that is even balanced, full or fit for purpose then that's the biggest sin. Especially when we KNOW money should be there and players we clearly need are available for affordable prices.

This transfer window was the worst ever. At least with the other ones on paper the players looked like positive steps even if it didn't turn out like that. This time there are clear area of need all over the squad and these are all ignored, and some positions actually weakened.

An expensive loan of a player we don't really need and certainly can't afford to buy along with a has been albeit on a deal which won't do the club much damage and a substandard striker on a far too big fee is criminal.

It's insulting to think that what money they actually WILL spend is being spent in such an utterly stupid way. Hugill will end up costing us as we're bound to make a loss when we have to sell him for not being up to it (don;t get me wrong he seems like a good kid but he's not going to be good enough) and Joao Mario is just money down the toilet, as we'll never sign him at the end of the season.
